Hi, I'm Shanlee - a Calgary mom of three and the photographer behind Shanlee Raeann Photography.

I’m a fun, laid-back photographer specializing in maternity, newborn. and families. Since 2019, I've been capturing real moments for real families, because those are the ones that matter most. Whether you’re expecting your first baby, wrangling toddlers, or gathering generations together, I’m here to help you press pause and make those memories tangible.

I believe photography should feel effortless and meaningful. My goal is to create a space where you can relax, connect with your people, and actually enjoy the experience so your photos reflect how it felt, not just how it looked.

I started this journey because after becoming a mom, I realized how fleeting those little moments are. One minute they’re babbling and playing with their toes and the next they’re off to grade 1.

I know how to guide you gently while keeping things fun and authentic. I want you to leave the session feeling like you've just hung out with a friend. I work with families to take the stress out of photos. You just show up, I’ll do the rest.

Ready to freeze this season before it slips away? Let’s do this.

"Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still." - Dorothea Lange

So much of parenthood happens quietly and quickly. I’m here to capture those moments before they pass.

Motherhood

I'm a mom of three. Which means I know that getting everyone dressed, fed, and out the door already feels like a win.

I know what it's like to worry your kids won't listen, someone will melt down, or the baby won't nap, and to wonder if family photos are even worth the stress.

I promise: you don't need to have it all together.

Photography

My photography is rooted in connection, not control. I prompt instead of pose, guide instead of force, and leave room for kids to be exactly who they are.

Years in the beauty industry taught me that you can't change bone structure, personalities, or energy. You work with what's already there. Photography is no different.

The result is images that feel honest, relaxed, and full of life. Not stiff or over-styled.
